E-cigarette Usage Leads to Hospitalization: Disturbing Youth Trend
A teenager from Bogdanovci, Croatia was hospitalized after using an e-cigarette containing THC and HHC; public concern grows.

According to a report by Croatian media outlet Srednja.hr on January 2nd, a minor from Bogdanovci was hospitalized after using an e-cigarette containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and hexahydrocannabinol (HHC).

 

Just ten days prior to this incident, a 15-year-old teenager collapsed in the school restroom after using an e-cigarette. The school janitor discovered the unconscious teenager and promptly alerted the authorities, who responded to the incident after receiving a report from the Woceval Hospital.

 

Currently, both incidents have sparked extreme public interest in the local community, with the police having now released the relevant details pertaining to these cases.

UK Tobacco and Vapes Bill Receives Royal Assent, Banning Tobacco Sales to People Born After 2008
The UK government announced on April 29 that the Tobacco and Vapes Bill had received Royal Assent and become law. Under the new law, it is illegal to sell tobacco to anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 2009. The government said the law creates the UK’s first “smoke-free generation” and includes measures to ban the advertising and sponsorship of vapes and nicotine products, as well as powers to restrict packaging, branding and displays designed to appeal to children.

The Texas Supreme Court issued a case summary on May 8, 2026, describing its decision in Hancock v. RJR Vapor Co. LLC. The dispute centered on whether RJR Vapor’s VELO oral nicotine pouches are taxable as “tobacco products” under the Texas Tax Code. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on May 6 that it has advanced its modernization initiative by launching Elsa 4.0, an upgraded internal AI tool, and consolidating more than 40 application and submission data sources, systems and portals into a new platform called HALO.
