IEVA hopes that a win-win can be reached for the Chinese and European e-cigarette industries by bridging the industrial chain between China and the European market and sharing of information and resources.

Ciprian Boboi further explained to 2FIRSTS on the details of the latest EU regulatory developments from the Brussels 2022 conference on September 29. Ciprian clarifies that if the EU implements the e-cigarette tax, its member states' previously instated taxes will be wiped clean and in place with a harmonised EU tax standard. IEVA is working to reach the 0.1 euro/ml e-cigarette tax target, arguing that it is in the interest of both the country's tax revenue and the health of its citizens, thus promoting the long-term development of the e-cigarette industry. If countries want to develop their own e-cigarette taxation, they will have to re-enter the taxation process to add on to the harmonized tax.

Ciprian added that the upcoming directive on EU's battery products states that the lifespan of electronic products can not be less than two years. It would apply significantly compliance risks for disposable e-cigarettes.

To meet the EU’s incoming environmental regulations, drive industrial compliance development and achieve circulation at lower costs, IEVA will put forward a recycling program in Europe, inviting ECCC and 2FIRSTS to join hands. The association is confident to see it through.

In addition, IEVA and 2FIRSTS have shaken hands on several cooperative intentions:

  1. 2FIRSTS will be covering the workshop on the European TPD Compliant Advertising and Products;
  2. IEVA will team up with 2FIRSTS, on whose official site a new column will be set up to keep global vapers updated with European regulatory policies in English and Chinese language;
  3. IEVA will support 2FIRSTS to establish its European Press Center to further strengthen Sino-Europe industrial links;
