On December 15, the Independent British Vape Trade Association (IBVTA) successfully held the 2022 annual webinar, attended by British experts and regulators from the e-cigarette industry, including Marcus Saxton, Chairman of IBVTA, Gillian, CEO of IBVTA, Craig Copland, Head of E-cigarettes of UK's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and Kate Pike, Executive Officer of UK's Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI). Together, they discussed the status quo and future of the UK e-cigarette industry from the market, policy, and environmental protection aspects. 2FIRSTS was invited to attend and deliver a speech at the meeting.

IBVTA Webinar 2022 Review

Marcus Saxton, the chairperson IBVTA, briefed the participants on key priorities and the progress of IBVTA in 2022. He also informed the UK e-cigarette market share of the year and the most popular e-cigarette brands, and made a professional analysis of reasons for the success of disposable e-cigarettes from the aspects of the status quo, market, and policy.

In her speech, Kate mentioned that current legal loopholes could make it easier for young people to obtain e-cigarette samples and be attracted by dazzling advertising and marketing, resulting in an increase in the purchase rate of e-cigarettes by minors. In this light, IBVTA will step up efforts to crack down on the illegal sale of e-cigarettes to prevent teenagers from consuming them.

Marcus said the issue of underage use of e-cigarettes is also one of IBVTA's top concerns. IBVTA is always trying to understand the value of vapor products fully, looking for solutions to enhance public health, and maximize the economic and social value of e-cigarettes.

Afterwards, Jason, the Director of Development of 2FIRSTS, delivered a speech on behalf of 2FIRSTS. He explained in details China's e-cigarette market, regulation and other aspects to the participants, introduced the highlights and market prospects of some outstanding e-cigarette brands in China, and said that 2FIRSTS will strive to open up new traffic channels for China's excellent brands to go global and make efforts for the cooperation between the UK and China on all fronts.

Thanks to his speech, the participants had a clearer and deeper understanding of China's e-cigarette regulatory policies, which they realized will promote the benign development of the global e-cigarette market, giving them more trust and confidence in China's e-cigarette products. At the end of the meeting, Marcus concluded that IBVTA is interested in China's e-cigarette market and is willing to build a stage of communication, exchange, and win-win cooperation for Chinese brands to develop in the UK.
