Russian Consumer Protection Department Seeks Ban on Cigarette Sales Near Schools
Russian consumer protection agency demands prohibition of cigarette sales near schools to protect minors, according to media reports.

According to a report by Russian media outlet Vladimir, the Russian Consumer Rights Protection Department (Роспотребнадзор) has demanded a ban on a chain store selling cigarettes near schools in order to protect minors.

According to reports, the consumer protection department has filed a lawsuit in court seeking confirmation that the cigarette sales practices of the store located at 9 Architect Avenue, Vladimir, Building 4, and 1/1 Kosmodemyanskaya Street, Kovrov, are illegal.

According to reports, there is a No.21 school located 57 meters away in the town of Arjelnik (оружейников). In Vladimir, the shop is situated next to the "Center - Car" driving school, and this private enterprise store also sells cigarettes not far from the No. 34 kindergarten.

It is noteworthy that the judge has taken the side of the consumer protection department and has already shown support for their demands.
