In 2023, VAPE FAIR was a resounding success with 354 brands presenting their offerings across a 10,766 square meter exhibition space and welcoming 12,205 industry professionals from 26 countries. The 2024 edition is anticipated to build on this success, featuring an array of leading e-cigarette brands, e-liquid manufacturers, accessory suppliers and raw material producers.

 

The e-cigarette industry in Indonesia is on a trajectory of impressive growth, with a market share of USD 400 million in 2023 and a steady 2.22% CAGR. South Korean lawmaker Jeong Jin-wook has again called for stronger government action against liquid synthetic nicotine vape manufacturers and sellers, alleging that some businesses may have avoided regulation through product labeling changes and corporate restructuring. According to Newsworks, JNILBO and other Korean reports, Jeong has held his third press conference on the issue, calling for a government-wide investigation. The dispute involves whether synthetic nicotine products should fall under tobacco regulations, tax implications and supply-chain transparency. A 12-week European Commission consultation on revising the Tobacco Products Directive and Tobacco Advertising Directive is due to close on Aug. 14, 2026. The Commission has identified e-cigarette flavours, disposable vapes, tobacco heating devices, nicotine pouches, nicotine-free e-cigarettes, packaging and digital marketing among areas for possible new EU rules. National regulations already vary significantly across the bloc, a fragmentation the Commission says creates internal-market barriers and distorts competition. No formal revised TPD/TAD legislative text has yet been published, with the Commission currently indicating December 2026 for the legislative initiative.
