ANTY EXPO 2024, Asia's premier tobacco industry expo, kicks off in Malaysia with 200+ exhibitors showcasing new products.

The 2024 Asia International New Tobacco Industry Expo (ANTY EXPO) will be held at the Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Center (MIECC) from September 6th to September 8th, 2024. As the official media partner of ANTY EXPO, the 2Firsts team has arrived in Malaysia and is ready to engage with exhibitors to gain insight into the on-site Malaysian e-cigarette market and trends.

 

As a business conference and trade exhibition for the global new tobacco industry, ANTY EXPO has chosen to hold its first event in Malaysia, the main trading center for the e-cigarette market in Southeast Asia, aiming to attract buyers from Asia and around the world and strengthen cooperation in the global tobacco industry.

 

Official data shows that this exhibition will gather more than 200 exhibitors, covering everything from the supply chain to user applications. Renowned brands and companies such as ELFBAR, LOST MARY, YOOZ, SKE, GEEK BAR, RYBOSS, CLEW, MIEE, INSPO, VOOPOO, NIXX, and KING-X will be participating.

 

In addition, during the exhibition, the Global Nicotine Pouch Industry Summit Forum will be held (September 7th), with Leona Zhu, the executive editor of 2Firsts, delivering a keynote speech titled "Embracing the Boom of New Categories: Global Trends and Suggestions for the Development of Nicotine Pouches," providing in-depth analysis of the current market status and future development prospects of this emerging category.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial interviewed Fred Monteiro, Regional Director for Americas and Europe at British American Tobacco (BAT). Monteiro said BAT supports setting regulatory limits for nicotine products but opposes Spain’s proposed 0.99mg nicotine-per-pouch limit, arguing that such a restriction could affect adult smokers’ transition to alternatives. He said nicotine regulation should be based on scientific evidence and harm reduction principles. According to convenience retail publication CStore Decisions, U.S. convenience store tobacco categories are undergoing a structural shift. Based on Circana OmniMarket Total U.S. Convenience data for the 52 weeks ending June 14, 2026, cigarettes remained the largest category with $50.8 billion in sales, but unit sales declined 5.3%. Electronic smoking devices and vaping products also declined, while modern oral nicotine products continued to grow, with nicotine pouch sales rising 29% in dollars and 17% in units. Retailers said changing consumer preferences are reshaping tobacco product assortments at convenience stores.
