BAT False Advertising Under Italian Regulator Investigation; Amazon No Related Products

On April 18, according to foreign media Market Watch, the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) said that British American Tobacco (BAT) and Amazon had misleading information in their advertisements promoting new tobacco devices, and they had been investigated.

The Italian competition authority said that the advertisement of British American Tobacco's product glo hyper X2 falsely suggested that the product did not contain nicotine; this advertisement on Amazon may expose some consumers, especially minors, to health damage risks.

According to Reuters, it found on Amazon (Italy) that the Glo Hyper X2 was described as a "cigarette alternative, smoke-free and tasteless experience, nicotine-free."

The relevant person in charge of British American Tobacco Italy responded that it would cooperate with the Italian Competition Authority to rectify this rapidly.

On the afternoon of April 19, 2FIRSTS searched Amazon (Italy) and found that the platform no longer has glo hyper X2.
