FDA Seeking Nominations for Non-Voting Representative on TPSAC
FDA's Center for Tobacco Products is seeking a non-voting representative from the tobacco manufacturing industry to join the TPSAC.

According to a report by tobaccoreporter, the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP), a branch of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is currently seeking nominations for a non-voting representative to join the Tobacco Products Scientific Advisory Committee (TPSAC). The deadline for nominations is October 11, 2023. Individuals are welcome to nominate themselves or be nominated by any interested individuals or organizations.

In addition, CTP has also invited industry organizations interested in participating in the selection process for non-voting representatives of TPSAC.

Nomination materials to become a candidate for TPSAC and industry organization letters expressing interest in participating in the selection process must be submitted to CTP by October 11, 2023. For more detailed information about the nomination and selection process, please refer to the Federal Register notice.

The role of TPSAC is to provide advice to CTP on the regulation of tobacco products. The committee reviews and evaluates safety, addictive properties, and health concerns related to tobacco products, and provides appropriate recommendations, information, and guidance to the FDA commissioner.
