FDA Warns Nic Nac Naturals for Unauthorized Marketing
FDA warns Nic Nac Naturals for marketing unauthorized nicotine products described as "nicotine mint leaves" resembling candy.

According to a recent announcement by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on November 7th, the agency has issued a warning letter to Nic Nac Naturals. The reason behind this action is the company's unauthorized marketing of soluble nicotine products, which they describe as "Nicotine Mint Strips" that resemble mint candies.

Nic Nac Naturals promotes these tobacco products in various mint and fruit flavors. The products include 15 nicotine "mint tabs" with a total nicotine content that could reach up to 90 milligrams (6 milligrams of nicotine per "mint tab"). The packaging states that these products contain "non-tobacco nicotine.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates tobacco products that contain nicotine from any source, including "non-tobacco nicotine". Any company manufacturing and selling these products without obtaining the FDA's marketing authorization is engaging in an illegal activity.

These products are particularly alarming because they resemble popular candies, posing a potential risk of severe nicotine poisoning or even death if young children mistakenly consume them.

Brian King, Director of the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products, stated that FDA remains committed to actively monitoring the market and cracking down on companies selling illegal products, particularly those that may appeal to young people. Our objective is to identify and prevent these emerging threats to adolescents before they become widespread.
