Iowa DOR Proposes Rules on Cigarette Tax, Vapor Product Sales Oversight
The U.S. state of Iowa is revisiting tobacco tax regulations, proposing enhanced oversight of cigarette excise taxes and the delivery sales of vapor products. A public hearing on the proposed changes is scheduled to take place soon.

The Iowa Department of Revenue (DOR) has released a regulatory analysis addressing the administration of cigarette excise taxes and the oversight of delivery sales for vapor products, according to a report by Bloomberg Tax News on November 18.

 

The DOR is recommending the reintroduction of regulations for cigarette taxes and delivery sales of vapor products. This initiative aims to strengthen tobacco sales regulations to address evolving market dynamics and public health needs.

 

A public hearing is scheduled for December 4, where stakeholders will discuss the proposed rules. Members of the public who wish to provide feedback on the proposed rules are encouraged to submit comments before the December 4 deadline.
