Indonesia's JAKARTA INTERNATIONAL VAPE EXPO 2024 (JIVE) opened at Jakarta International Expo on May 11, attracting top e-cigarette brands.

On May 11, the Indonesian e-cigarette trade show, JAKARTA INTERNATIONAL VAPE EXPO 2024 (JIVE), opened at the Jakarta International Expo Center. The exhibition will last for two days and will conclude on May 12. This event has attracted the participation of dozens of well-known e-cigarette brands such as ELFBAR, GEEK VAPE, OXVA, VOOPOO, and FLUM.

 

According to reports, the Indonesian e-cigarette market is dominated by open-system products. Therefore, the main exhibitors at this trade show have almost all showcased open-system (refillable) products.

Philip Morris Japan (PMJ) announced that it will open “IQOS Flagship Ginza” in Tokyo on September 4, 2026. The location will become the first global flagship space for PMI’s IQOS brand. China’s vape exports to the U.S. reached approximately $1.58 billion in the first half of 2026, remaining broadly stable from a year earlier but still below previous growth momentum. 2Firsts’ analysis of China Customs data shows that the U.S. market has not simply returned to its previous trajectory after the enforcement shock and inventory-driven swings of 2025. Instead, export momentum is shifting across product categories. Vaping devices and atomization hardware increased 15.2% year over year, while 6-methyl nicotine-related and other nicotine substitute products surged 234.7%. Meanwhile, traditional nicotine-containing vaping products continued to face pressure.

According to China’s patent office records, a patent owned by China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corporation (CTHB) for “cigarette paper and a cigarette for microwave heating” was granted on May 19, 2026. The patent describes cigarette paper with an outer wrapping layer, a heating layer, and an isolation heat-conducting layer, allowing it to absorb microwave energy, convert it to heat, and transfer that heat to the aerosol-generating substrate.
