
On February 21st, KT&G announced a partnership with Kolon Industries to jointly develop cigarette filters made from environmentally-friendly Lyocell fibers. The signing ceremony between the two parties took place on February 20th at KT&G's headquarters in Seoul.
Two companies plan to establish a promotion commission to manage business progress and make major decisions, and in the future, they will accelerate the development of cigarette filter tips using environmentally friendly materials.
Kim Jin-han, KT&G's strategic planning director, stated that the company will continue to fulfill its environmental responsibilities and promote ESG management in accordance with global standards. Yoon Kwang-bok, managing director of Kolon Industries, expressed hopes of strengthening communication and cooperation between the two companies while jointly developing environmentally friendly materials based on natural raw materials such as the Lyocell pulp.
