
According to reports from Turkish media outlet Medyaege, Turkish authorities have launched investigations and filed cases against 13 suspects in smuggling operations across nine administrative districts in Izmir, Turkey. A significant amount of contraband products, including smuggled e-cigarettes, cigarettes, and alcohol, were seized during these operations.
The law enforcement authorities in Izmir conducted 12 separate operations locally against trafficking crimes. During these operations, investigations were initiated against 13 suspects. The searches resulted in the seizure of 370,000 empty cigarette filters, 50,000 filled cigarette filters, 23.1 tons of smuggled fuel, 469 packs of smuggled cigarettes, 128 bottles of counterfeit or smuggled alcohol, 6 e-cigarette devices, and 38 bottles of e-cigarette liquid.
