Monroe County Sheriff's Office conducted compliance checks on tobacco and e-cigarette sales to minors in all county stores.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office in Indiana, USA, recently completed county-wide compliance operations for tobacco and e-cigarette products.


An investigation was conducted in response to complaints made about stores selling tobacco and e-cigarette products to underage customers, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office. The compliance checks aimed to ensure the safety of minors, make sure stores were following the law, and educate non-compliant businesses. A total of 86 stores were checked for compliance, with 74 passing and 12 receiving penalties for non-compliance.


According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Goodnough expressed gratitude to the Monroe County Substance Abuse Coalition, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, and compliant businesses for their ongoing support and cooperation.
