Mylor Innovation Lab Launches JuiSour Series: Revolutionizing Sour Aroma, Sour-Sweet Balance, and Juiciness in E-Liquids

Sep.12
Mylor Innovation Lab will unveil its JuiSour Series at InterTabac in Dortmund, positioned around “aroma burst, sour-sweet balance, enhanced juiciness.” The new line comprises three sub-series — Berry, Candy, and Citrus — breaking through the limitations of traditional acetic acid and introducing the concept of a “Golden Sour-Sweet Ratio” to elevate the sour-aromatic profile and mouthfeel of e-liquids.

Mylor Innovation Lab Co., Ltd (Booth No. 1B.A10) will officially launch its new e-liquid sourness solution — the JuiSour Series — on September 18, 2025, during InterTabac 2025 in Dortmund. Centered around three core directions – “aroma burst, sour-sweet balance, enhanced juiciness” – the series comprehensively overcome the limitations of traditional sour agents like acetic acid in sensory performance, pioneering in a new era of “Sour Taste Differentiation”for e-liquids.

Sourness is one of the five basic tastes. In saliva, sour agents dissociate to release H⁺, activating the Otop1 acid receptor on Type III taste receptor cells (TRCs), which generates neural signals perceived as sourness. In addition, acidic aroma compounds can strengthen the perception of sourness via retronasal olfaction. Therefore, sourness is a combined sensation of taste and smell.

In e-liquids, sourness plays a critical role on the overall sensory profile. Through extensive flavor research, Mylor found that sourness can significantly enhance aroma intensity, balance  sweetness, and increase juiciness, producing a watering mouthfeel.

Compared with the sour-free version, a classic blueberry ice e-liquid with sour agent showed a 35% increase in aroma burst, 33% in aroma reproduction, 38% in aroma intensity, 44% in berry intensity, 30% in natural sweetness, and 38% in juiciness.

The “sour-sweet ratio” (total sourness/total sweetness) is a key parameter for evaluating the product sensory quality in fields like fruit and beverage industry. An excessively high ratio produces a strong sour and irritating sensation, while a ratio that is too low results in a sickly sweet. Mylor has found that the “sour-sweet ratio” is also crucial in the development of e-liquids. The product can deliver a balanced, palatable sour-sweet sensation by adjusting an optimal ratio according to the flavor profiles and consumer preferences. Based on sour-sweet cross-modal interactions, delivery mechanisms of ingredients, and consumer study results, Mylor has pioneered the “Golden Sour-Sweet Ratio” tailored for different flavored e-liquids.

Acetic acid is the most commonly used sour agent in e-liquids, however its strong vinegar-like odor and irritation lead to an unnatural sourness, nasal harshness, and throat sting in high-acidity flavors. After years of flavor research on e-liquids, Mylor launched an innovative solution – JuiSour Series solution to overcome the limitations of acetic acid and provide tailored sourness solutions for the development of different flavored e-liquids.

JuiSour-Berry: Sour-Aroma Activated, Evoking Berry Soul

Designed for blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, grape, cranberry and other berry flavors, JuiSour-Berry avoids the sharp sourness of acetic acid. Instead, it boosts berry intensity and improves berry aroma reproduction, delivering a layered and explosive sourness.

Compared to acetic acid, JuiSour-Berry significantly enhances the sensory performance of mixed berries e-liquid: aroma intensity, aroma reproduction and aroma burst are increased by 44%, 44% and 40%, respectively, while berry intensity is substantially boosted by 58%. It significantly enhances the characteristic flavor profile of natural berries, greatly improves the product's flavor authenticity and consumer satisfaction.

JuiSour-Candy: Sour-Sweet Balanced, Creating Candy Bliss

Designed for hard candy, gummy, rainbow candy, and bubble gum flavors, JuiSour-Candy enhances natural sweetness perception and reduces sweetness linger, delivering a richer, refreshing and non-sickly candy flavor.

Compared to acetic acid, JuiSour-Candy significantly enhances the sensory performance of gummy bear e-liquid: Sour-sweet balance and natural sweetness perception are improved by 51% and 63%, respectively, while sweetness linger is reduced by 30%. It significantly enhances the flavor authenticity of classic candy, effectively balances the sickly sweetness, and greatly improves the refreshing mouthfeel and vaping smoothness.

Designed for lemon, lime, orange, mandarin, grapefruit and other citrus flavors as well as beverage flavors such as pink lemonade and orange soda, JuiSour-Citrus enhances juiciness and aroma authenticity of fruits, delivering a more natural, refreshing and juicy sourness.

Compared to acetic acid, JuiSour-Candy significantly enhances the sensory performance of orange soda e-liquid: Juiciness and sour-sweet balance are improved by 63% and 44%, respectively, while natural sourness perception is substantially increased by 83%. It significantly enhances refreshingness, precisely modulates sourness, and greatly improves the product’s flavor complexity and authenticity.

The bill excludes plain packaging; Spain records over 50,000 smoking-related deaths annually.
