NYC Sues Multiple E-cig Companies, Demands Halt in Product Distribution
The mayor of New York City and a judge have filed a new lawsuit against several e-cigarette companies, demanding that they stop distributing their products in the city.

As reported by Pix11 on October 17, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Judge Sylvia O. Hinds-Radix filed a new lawsuit against several e-cigarette companies.

Adams first filed a federal lawsuit against four e-cigarette distributors in July, claiming they illegally marketed to minors. Now, the city has filed a request for an injunction requiring the companies to stop distributing their products in New York City.

"Our government will not stand idly by while these companies break our laws, sell illegal products and endanger our children," Adams said. To any company that continues to sell and distribute these products, I warn you that we will not hesitate to hold you accountable if you put profits ahead of people."

Federal health authorities say flavors like "strawberry milkshake," "Cola" and "iced coconut wine" entice kids to use a lot of nicotine.

New York law expressly prohibits the sale of flavored cigarette products, but investigators said they recently found them in at least 200 stores across the city.
