Russian Duma Propose to Shut Down Online Vape Stores
Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Youth Policy Committee, stated that he has submitted requests to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection, aiming to block websites selling e-cigarettes and hold their owners accountable.

According to a report by RIA Novosti, Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Youth Policy Committee, stated on social media that he has submitted requests to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection, aiming to block websites selling e-cigarettes and hold their owners accountable.

 

He wrote, "Based on the results of over 250 internet resources discovered by my team, I have submitted the relevant requests to the Prosecutor General and the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection, as these websites continue to illegally sell e-cigarettes to minors."

 

Metelev added that, in addition to blocking companies and agents engaged in e-cigarette sales, they may also face fines of up to 300,000 rubles ($3333).

 

He emphasized that this measure aims to strengthen the regulation of e-cigarette sales to protect the health and rights of minors.
