U.S. ITC: 400 Million E-Cig Imported in 2022
According to their statistics, about 400 million e-cigarettes have been imported into the U.S. in 2022, and 99% of imported e-cigarette products were from China.

 

The U.S. International Trade Commission published international trade data on e-cigarettes, statistics on the proportion of e-cigarettes imported by the country's states and the proportion of e-cigarettes imported from the top five ports.

 

According to the statistics, in 2022, the U.S. imported about 400 million e-cigarettes, 99% of the imported e-cigarette products came from China. Among them, Chicago, Illinois is the most critical distribution port for e-cigarettes in the U.S. More than 50% of e-cigarettes enter the U.S. from Chicago and then radiate throughout the Great Lakes region to supply the eastern and central U.S. markets.

The Los Angeles port in California on the west coast ranks as the second largest e-cigarette distribution port in the United States handles more than 30% of e-cigarettes entering the U.S. market through Los Angeles. It has become the core import port for e-cigarettes in the Western United States.

 

New York New York and Savannah Georgia are the other two ports with annual imports of more than 10 million units. Miami Florida, Norfolk Virginia, and Seattle Washington are three major ports of the annual import scale in the millions.

 

Since February this year, the proportion of e-cigarettes imported from the Los Angeles port began declining, accounting for only 5-12% of U.S. imports. And San Francisco, another port also in California, accounted for less than 1% in January, rose to 8.4% in May, temporarily becoming the third largest port of import of electronic cigarettes in the United States.

 

The number one port, Chicago, is also growing, with a share of 84%.
