2Firsts, September 18, 2025, Dortmund, Germany — On the afternoon of September 18 local time at the InterTabac exhibition, China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co., Ltd. (China Tobacco Hunan IC) officially launched its Heated Tobacco Product (HTP), Usonic Dual. The device has drawn significant industry attention for its groundbreaking full-area thermal field technology and AI-powered interaction system. Key technological highlights include:

1.  Full-Area Thermal Field System: For the first time, the product achieves synchronized three-dimensional heating across the center, bottom, and periphery of the tobacco stick. The system utilizes AI algorithms to dynamically adjust the heating curve, increasing the single-use duration of each stick by over 40% and enabling more than 20 effective puffs—effectively solving the issue of uneven heating seen in traditional HTP products.

2.  High-Resolution OLED Touchscreen with Smart Interaction: Equipped with a customized Seekwall system, the device integrates the DeepSeek AI model with a built-in voice assistant and supports cross-device data linkage.

3.  Button-Free Floating Display Design: Featuring a 3D micro-arc curved screen with a magnetic modular body structure, the device is built with a strategic-grade “New Green” gradient electroplated finish.

The product was jointly developed by China Tobacco Hunan IC and Firstunion Group, with a research and development team of over 100 experts across seven specialized fields including material science and tobacco science. The project took three years to complete.

Dutch Ministry of Finance reports: Dutch tobacco tax revenue stagnates, mainly due to cross-border consumption shift
A report released by the Dutch Ministry of Finance indicates that tobacco tax increases have failed to boost fiscal revenue. The previously projected €7 million in revenue from a 5 cent per pack tax increase has now fallen to zero, primarily due to cross-border cigarette purchases. The current excise tax on cigarettes is €7.81 per pack, with no further increases planned. Tobacco tax revenue is projected to reach €2.5 billion in both 2025 and 2026.
