VAPORESSO OSMALL 2: Compact and Upgraded MTL Pod Vape
VAPORESSO updates their OSMALL MTL pod vape with a sleek new design and leak protection. Ideal for high-nicotine vaping.

Product Introduction and Specifications

Vaporesso has updated their small, refillable MTL pod vape, the OSMALL. The OSMALL 2 boasts the same features as its predecessor, but with an upgraded body, Type-C charging, more mAh, and added leak protection.

The OSMALL 2 is just as sleek as the original, but now weighs 26.5 grams and features a textured zinc alloy casing and a 450 mAh battery. This is a low-cost pod designed specifically for high-nicotine e-cigarettes and tight MTL (mouth-to-lung) e-cigarettes. It comes with a 2 mL magnetically-inserted pod and a new 1.2 ohm coil (although it is cross-compatible with the original pod). The original OSMALL used flax fiber cotton for the wick, although it is not specified which wick is used now. Presumably, it is the same as before. My favorite thing about the original is that it is able to effectively draw in high VG juice, even with a tight draw.

When I heard that VAPORESSO was launching a new device, the OSMALL, I hesitated because I'm a fan of the original. Due to some leak issues and an overall cheap feel, my love for it had diminished. Maybe now things have changed and I can fully take advantage of it without the previous drawbacks. Let's see how it fares in terms of price.

Price: $15.99 (Element Vape). Colors available include green, blue, gold, pink, silver, grey, and gold.

Build quality and design.

OSMALL 2 is a much-needed upgrade to the sturdy MTL pod vape. The design of its follow-up is just as simple, but the OSMALL 2 is more elegant and of higher quality. The initial OSMALL had a plastic body, which made it inexpensive, but also feel cheap. The OSMALL 2 is believed to be made of zinc alloy.

In the end, the body maintains the same dimensions in shape, although both manufacturing quality and physical design have been improved. The new version still retains its rounded, flat rectangular shape, but is now made of metal and has a new streamlined texture. This is a minor yet impactful improvement.

Another new feature of the OSMALL 2 is the Type-C pass-through charging port located at the bottom of the battery casing. In my initial review, I expressed my wish that it had Type-C charging, and now it does.

On another note, I like VAPORESSO for only updating their device instead of creating a whole new device under the name OSMALL. I suspect I'm the only one who likes the original but still wants updates.

Introduction" or "Getting started

Remove the device from the packaging and then extract the pod and seal from the bottom of the pod. The initial step is to fill the pod with your chosen liquid and then wait for a few minutes to saturate the wick.

To refill the pod, please use your fingernail and pull downwards from the top of the stopper. If you pull from the bottom, the whole thing will come out. Putting it back in is not difficult, but it may be a bit tricky if you have chubby fingers.

The device should already be charged. The front of the device features a thin oval-shaped plate with the brand logo that houses a small LED. It can be difficult to determine when you're using the electronic cigarette, but if the LED is solid when you take a hit, it means the battery is fully charged. Unfortunately, there are no other colors or methods to gauge the battery level.

Performance

The OSMALL 2 is a highly satisfying MTL vape for those seeking a discreet option. It features a tight cigarette-style draw and operates quietly. However, a faint clicking sound may be heard upon initial activation.

The OSMALL 2 is similar to the original version in that it is a high-nicotine device but can still produce high VG juice. I hardly use nicotine salts anymore, so I am happy to know that I can DIY my own juice to my liking with OSMALL 2. When using freebase liquid, even sweet and high VG juices, the OSMALL 2 pod can be used for a long time. It is difficult to say how long exactly because my pods only start to taste fashionable when I use salts and expect different results. It's crazy! Sorry, I digress.

The flavor produced by OSMALL 2 is precise and clean. It is an electronic cigarette that does not overheat, as it is capable of absorbing almost any ratio of juice and enduring chain vaping without being affected by the electronic cigarette.

The original product had issues with creaking and leakage. It made creaking noises from the very beginning, but the leakage issue wasn't resolved until I had the device for a while. So far, the OSMALL 2 has not had any leakage issues unless I am too enthusiastic with the filling, which can easily be wiped away with a napkin. The OSMALL 2 does not make creaking, spitting, or bursting sounds.

Battery life and charging.

It takes about 45 minutes to charge the OSMALL 2 through its Type-C port, which also features fast charging capabilities. Its battery capacity has increased from 350 mAh to 450 mAh, a 29% increase that should allow for a full day of use on a single charge.

Miniature LEDs may be discreet, but they are not particularly useful. While I appreciate the minimalism of using LEDs on e-cigarettes, it is difficult to determine battery life before it runs out. When the battery is depleted, it will flash, but there are no other colors or indicators to gauge charging capacity. Conversely, during charging, the battery indicator light remains on until fully charged, then turns off after charging is complete.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages:

The highly efficient moisture-wicking and sweat-evaporating capabilities can effectively remove any residue from fruit juices, making it perfect for high nicotine levels with accurate and clean flavors. The Type-C charging and upgraded metal body not only enhance the quality but also make it more affordable and cross-compatible with the original version. It is also lighter than the standard battery and has a longer lifespan.

Drawbacks/Shortcomings/Disadvantages:

The use of detachable rubber plugs can be tediously difficult in determining the remaining battery lifespan. In summary:

I am excited to have a new OSMALL. OSMALL 2 is just an update, without any major changes. It can still suck up any juice and has a durable coil. I think the OSMALL 2 is a great MTL vape for those who desire simplicity and portability.

The metal body and wavy texture of the OSMALL 2 enhance its tactile feel. Overall, it adds a touch of liveliness without being flashy. The added leak protection is a huge advantage as it was previously a weakness. The Type-C charging slightly prolongs the run time, and for me, the OSMALL 2 has virtually no faults – any shortcomings are negligible.

The OSMALL 2 is a device that I may use more than any other device because it is perfect for my vaping style which involves high nicotine and mouth-to-lung hits. Additionally, its inconspicuous design suits my needs perfectly.

U.S. Fifth Circuit Vacates NicQuid Vape MDO, Says FDA Comparative-Efficacy Standard Violated APA Procedures
According to VitalLaw on August 27, 2026, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit vacated an FDA marketing denial order (MDO) against NicQuid LLC, ruling that the agency’s comparative-efficacy standard for electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) applications had become a substantive rule requiring notice-and-comment rulemaking under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). The court did not reject FDA’s authority to compare the public health benefits and risks of flavored vapes, but held that the agency could not establish a broadly binding standard through informal adjudications. The case was remanded to FDA for further proceedings.

China Tobacco Zhejiang files patent for pressure-triggered, on-demand oral nicotine release
China Tobacco Zhejiang files patent for pressure-triggered, on-demand oral nicotine release
China Tobacco Zhejiang Industrial Co., Ltd. has filed a patent application for an oral nicotine delivery product designed to let users actively adjust nicotine release. The product embeds two types of nicotine reservoirs with different wall thicknesses and positions inside a deformable matrix. Pressure applied with the tongue or lips can rupture the reservoirs and accelerate nicotine release. In simulated oral tests, several patent examples showed sharply higher peak nicotine release rates as applied force increased from 0 N to 1 N and 3 N. The filing explores a shift from preset release profiles toward user-triggered nicotine delivery.
