Turkish police arrest 5 suspects in Sakarya province for tobacco smuggling; also seize drugs, e-cigarettes worth 60,000 lira.

According to a report by Gazeterize on October 6th, during an operation to combat tobacco smuggling in five districts of Sakarya Province, Turkey, police arrested five suspects and detained one.

 

During the search of the suspect's home and adjoining areas, the police discovered 25 e-cigarettes valued at approximately 60,000 lire, 770 packs of untaxed roll-your-own cigarettes, 72 untaxed cigars, and 720 tobacco-filled cigarette tubes.

 

In an operation conducted by the police in Akyazı district, the suspect was arrested. During the search of the suspect's home and surrounding area, the authorities discovered 6 kilograms of marijuana, 2 precision scales, 2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and a marijuana grinder.

 

The suspect was transported to court where he was sentenced to detention and subsequently sent to prison. Additionally, in drug operations in Adapazarı, Erenler, and Ferizli districts, the police confiscated 4 grams of marijuana and 53 grams of synthetic drugs, resulting in the arrest of 4 suspects.
