According to El Territorio on October 10, the Argentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina) intercepted a shipment of e-cigarettes worth over 100 million pesos (100,000 dollars) in the Iguazu region.
The operation began when coast guard personnel were conducting a patrol on foot at 1882.4 kilometers from the Paraná River and noticed a motorboat docked on the Argentine shore with several workers unloading packages.
Law enforcement officers approached and signaled to stop due to suspicions of illegal activity. However, the motorboat quickly turned back towards the Paraguayan shore, abandoning the entire batch of goods.
The Argentine National Maritime Authority has confirmed that a total of 25 packages containing over 5000 e-cigarettes have been seized, with an estimated total value of over 100 million pesos (10,000 USD).
