BAT Announces Transition Plan

"We are proud to take the latest step in our sustainability journey," said Kingsley Wheaton, Chief Growth Officer at BAT, "by outlining the steps we will take to achieve our net zero goal through our low carbon transformation program, we demonstrate our ongoing commitment to building a better tomorrow. As a global company, we know that minimizing our impact on our value chain is the right thing to do, and it also makes good business sense. That's why we have set extended science-based climate-related targets and continue to integrate sustainability into our business."

Through risk assessment analysis and scenario planning, BAT identifies risks and opportunities across the value chain.

BAT has committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by 2030 from the 2020 base year.
