BAT Japan's glo hyper X2: 1000 Yen Price Reduction

British American Tobacco Japan lowers prices of glo hyper X2 heated tobacco devices, reducing retail price from 1980 to 980 yen.

According to a report on Kakaku on March 1, British American Tobacco Japan has reduced the price of its heated tobacco device, glo hyper X2. The suggested retail price has been lowered from 1980 yen to 980 yen, resulting in a discount of 1000 yen.

AJ Marketing LLC filed the complaint on September 3, alleging that both JUUL 1 and JUUL2 infringe U.S. Patent No. 8,851,068 B2. The authors frame impact as “reach × efficacy” and call for real-world evidence to complement RCTs. Three days after publication, the FDA authorized three JUUL2 products and highlighted complete switching among adult smokers in explaining its decision, providing a timely regulatory backdrop to the debate.
