British Market Swamped With Illegally E-Cigarettes
According to the UK Electronic Cigarette Industry Association (UKVIA), between 40 and 60 percent of disposable e-cigarettes supplied in the United Kingdom are counterfeit or do not adhere to UK rules and regulations.
According to John Dunne, the director general of the UKVIA, the overwhelming quantity of legally supplied e-cigarette goods on the British market has become a severe issue, with the association receiving between 200 and 400 reports of illegal items every month. John Dunne believes that the market potential of the e-cigarette industry is enormous, very attractive for retailers, and has good development prospects; however, if industry players are too short-sighted, in order to short-term interests in disregard of laws and regulations, then the industry will have a negative impact, and may even lead to the eventual ban on the sale of e-cigarette products.
