New Nicotine Products Added to Tax List in Delaware Budget Proposal
Delaware Governor Matt Meyer’s proposed FY2027 budget would significantly raise cigarette and nicotine product taxes to help close a $500 million budget gap and generate new revenue. The cigarette tax would rise from $2.10 to $3.60 per pack, with increases on moist snuff, e-liquids and other tobacco products. Supporters say the move is justified, while small businesses warn of potential sales losses.

Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) proposed move to restrict harmful vape products to protect young people, but said only a total ban on all vaping and novel tobacco products would effectively safeguard public health. The group warned that limiting rules to certain products such as open pods and e-liquids could create a “dangerous behavioral loophole,” leading users—especially youth—to switch to disposable or closed-system alternatives instead of quitting.

Reuters: More “Made in America” Vape Products Appear in the U.S. Amid Trump Tariffs and Crackdown
According to Reuters, the U.S. vaping market has recently seen an increase in products marketed as “Made in America” amid the Trump administration’s stronger enforcement against unauthorized vape brands and increased trade tariff pressure on Chinese goods. Since October 2025, at least eight new vape brands highlighting American credentials have entered the U.S. market, and none of them has authorization for sale. Brands mentioned by Reuters include Maxus Star and OneTank.
