
According to Myjoyonline on August 18th, leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that if elected president in the 2024 general elections, he will abolish the controversial e-cigarette tax and betting tax.
During a press conference held on Sunday (the 18th), the New Patriotic Party outlined its vision for comprehensive tax reform aimed at easing the financial burden on the people of Ghana.
We will accelerate Ghana's transformation into the digital hub of Africa through strategic policies, incentive measures, and investments. This includes investing in local talent and technology startups, while also abolishing the e-cigarette tax.
If he wins the upcoming 2024 election, Bawumia has also promised to establish a more business-friendly environment.
Bawumia also outlined the comprehensive tax policies implemented by his government, which are specifically aimed at accelerating business growth and driving national economic development.
Bawumia has been serving as the Vice President of Ghana since 2017, primarily responsible for formulating government policies and overseeing their implementation.
