Dutch Flavor Ban Comments Close Sept. 28

The closing date for comments on the Dutch flavor ban is September 28.

The limited public feedback session over a proposed ban on flavored vaping goods concludes on September 28.

Scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2023, the new law would prohibit all e-liquid flavors other than tobacco. However, products on the market as of December 31 may be sold until July 1, 2023.

The Dutch National Institute of Public Health and Environment (RIVM) and the Ministry of Health have recommended a list of only sixteen components that would be permitted in tobacco-flavored e-liquids.

Numerous Dutch vaping industry proponents believe that the ingredient limitations will effectively throw out of business every e-liquid company in the Netherlands.

Since the comment period is open to the public, Dutch proponents of electronic cigarettes are soliciting feedback from consumers and interested supporters worldwide, including those outside the EU.

In the Netherlands, previous efforts to ban flavored vapes have failed.
