E-Cigarette Seizure in Taiping City, Vietnam
Vietnamese police seize large amount of e-cigarettes without clear source in Ta Ninh province.

According to information provided by the Taining City Police Department in Taining Province, Vietnam on June 10th, a café on Pham Tung Street in District 3 was inspected and a large quantity of unidentified e-cigarettes were seized. The café is run by a 25-year-old woman named Vo Thi Tham.

Here, the police have discovered that Tham is operating an e-cigarette business, but cannot provide legitimate documentation to prove its source or legality.

The public security authorities in Taining City conducted an inspection and confiscated 502 e-cigarettes and 105 various types of e-liquids, including OX3, LYO3, AKSO, RINCOE, and PIKACHU, among others. The confiscated items have an estimated value of around 50 million Vietnamese dong (approximately 15,000 yuan).

During cooperation with the police, Tham stated that the e-cigarettes were purchased through professional e-cigarette sales groups on Facebook.

After purchasing and completing transactions, Tham sold e-cigarettes through their personal Facebook account for prices ranging from 50,000 to 500,000 Vietnamese dong (approximately 15-152 yuan) per unit. The main customers who purchased these e-cigarettes were students and teenagers aged between 18 and 25.

The police in Taining City have drafted relevant inspection records and temporarily confiscated related items. They will further perfect the case documents for lawful processing.

Japan’s Heated Tobacco Tax Changes Reshape Consumer Choices, Survey Reveals Impact of Price and Income
A consumer survey by Japanese heated tobacco information platform RELAZO found that rising tobacco prices and planned heated tobacco tax changes may influence smoking decisions among Japanese consumers. The survey covered 49,879 men and women aged 20 to 69 nationwide. It found that around 40% of respondents cumulatively indicated they may consider quitting when a pack reaches ¥600 (approximately US$4.1), while nearly 90% expressed potential quitting intentions at a ¥1,000 (approximately US$6.8) price level. The survey also found significant differences by income level, with lower-income respondents showing greater sensitivity to price increases.

BAT New Categories Revenue Rises 18% in H1 2026 as Broad Portfolio Offers More Ways to Win—and Lose
British American Tobacco’s New Category revenue rose 18% at constant rates in the first half of 2026. Nicotine-pouch brand Velo expanded rapidly, while Vuse recovered as U.S. enforcement against illicit e-vapor products strengthened. Heated-tobacco platform glo remained under pressure, and cigarettes continued to provide most of the group’s profit and cash. Compared with PMI and JT, BAT has more routes to growth—but also greater regulatory, investment and execution risks across its broader portfolio.

Yinghe-Controlled Vape Maker SKE Ordered to Post £569,039 Security as It Pursues Crystal Bar Design Infringement Case in UK
The UK High Court has ordered Chinese vape manufacturer Shenzhen SKE Technology to provide £569,039 ($776,000) in security for costs in its design infringement proceedings against Vapepen London and other defendants over its Crystal Bar vape product. The court did not accept the defendants’ main argument that recovering costs from a China-based company would face significant enforcement obstacles, but found that SKE had not sufficiently disclosed its own financial position. The order is procedural and does not determine the underlying infringement claims.
