Ghana FDA to Strengthen Regulations on ENDS
Ghana's FDA has sent public release on the intention of strengthening enforcement of regulations on electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS).

According to a press release issued by the Ghana Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the country will continue to strengthen the regulation of e-cigarette products.

Ghana's Public Health Act prohibited the sale, advertising and recreational use of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) such as e-cigarettes by the public under the Public Health Act, 2012 (ACT 851) and Tobacco Control Regulations 2016, (L. I. 2247).

However, ENDS products can be registered as prescription drugs for the purpose of smoking cessation therapy.

The Ghana Food and Drug Authority (GFDA) claims to have issued notices to manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers to immediately remove all advertisements on social media, billboards and neon advertisements and stop importing the products.

It said there would be sanctions and penalties for entity failing to comply.
