Glo Hyper Pro: New Heat-Not-Burn Tobacco Device Released in Japan
BAT Japan has announced the launch of its new heated tobacco device, "glo hyper pro," with improved features.

According to local Japanese media outlet Kakaku, BAT Japan has announced the release of a new type of heated tobacco device called "glo hyper pro," which is an upgrade from their previous device "glo.

Starting from December 18, 2023, it will be sold on the official glo&VELO online store and Amazon.co.jp. From January 5, 2024, it will be available for purchase in major convenience stores nationwide, as well as in certain AEON stores.

The distinguishing feature of "glo hyper pro" is the inclusion of an "EASYVIEW screen". The AMOLED display provides device status notifications such as charging status, troubleshooting information, and conversation progress.

The device is also equipped with a "TASTE SELECT dial," which allows users to select the heating mode by simply rotating the dial. It supports two heating modes, "Standard" and "Enhanced," which can be chosen by turning the dial. To initiate the heating process, one can press and hold the button on the side of the device until it vibrates.

In addition, a new heating technology called "HEATBOOST" is being implemented, which claims to offer a higher level of satisfaction. The standard heating time is set at 4 minutes and 30 seconds, while the enhanced heating time is 3 minutes. For instance, in the standard mode, the conversation time is increased by 30 seconds compared to the previous model, "GLO Hyper X2".

Other key specifications include 20 cycles (number of uses when the device is fully charged; this number may vary depending on usage). The charging time is approximately 90-100 minutes.

The dimensions of the device are 36.6mm (width) x 96.7mm (height) x 21.1mm (length), and it weighs 90g. It features an "intuitive and easy-to-hold premium design" and comes in four different body colors: Ruby Black, Obsidian Black, Aquamarine Blue, and Emerald Green.

The price is 3,980 yen.
