According to a report from news1, Jejudo County in South Korea has been awarded the title of "Health Promotion Center Operation City and County Evaluation Department" at the 2023 Korea Chinese and Western Medicine Integration Expo. The county also received the Outstanding Organization Award in the "2023 Community Smoking Cessation Project".
At the Korean Chinese and Western Medicine Integration Expo held in the South Jejudo region last September, the health departments of 22 cities and counties in the province participated and carried out health projects tailored to the characteristics of their respective regions. They also operated health promotion centers to promote local specialties. Jejudo's health department, with the theme "Zero Stress! Creating Healthy Skin", provided experiences in making turmeric sprays and healthy cookies made from local specialties and medicinal herbs such as turmeric, goji berries, mugwort, and black rice. Han Xue Xi, the director of the Zhen Island County Health Center, stated, "We will strive to prevent residents from smoking and promote a smoke-free environment in order to build a healthy Zhen Island." She also mentioned, "In the future, we will continue to participate in medical expos and make every effort to promote our region by showcasing the unique experiences and attractions in Zhen Island County."
