Illegal e-cigarettes containing nicotine equivalent to 560 cigarettes were seized from stores in Ardrossan, North Ayrshire, Scotland.

According to a report by Ardrossanherald on September 14th, a number of illicit e-cigarettes have been confiscated in North Ayrshire, Scotland. One particular product was found to contain nicotine equivalent to the content in 560 cigarettes.

Scottish police and Trading Standards conducted inspections on e-cigarette shops in the Livingston, Kirkcaldy, and Bathgate areas. Two shops were found to be selling illegal e-cigarettes, and the enforcement agencies confiscated these products. They discovered that one e-cigarette contained nicotine levels equivalent to 560 cigarettes.

The spokesperson for the police stated that this inspection operation was a response to community concerns. He said that several shops complied with UK standards regarding age verification checks and e-cigarette compliance. However, a few e-cigarette stores were found selling illegal products in violation of regulations.

The spokesperson stated, "If you know of any stores selling or distributing illegal/fake nicotine products to individuals under the age of 18, please report them."
