Indiana vape tax to go into effect July 1

The new tax rate will be an added 15% of the wholesale price on all e-cigarette cartridges and vaping products.

Indiana will join over half of U.S. states by implementing a vape tax on July 1.

The tax was originally set to add 25% to the wholesale price on all e-cigarette cartridges and 15% to all additional vaping products, but Senate Bill 382 lowered this rate before it was even put into effect to ensure that it was the same across the board. The new tax rate will be an added 15% of the wholesale price on all e-cigarette cartridges and vaping products. This tax is additional to sales tax, which is 7% in the state of Indiana.

Currently, there are 30 other states with a statewide vape tax.

Austria to Tighten Sales Rules for Nicotine Pouches and E-Liquids From April 1

Austria will introduce new sales rules for nicotine products from April 1, 2026. Under a reform of the tobacco law passed in December 2025, nicotine pouches will in future be sold only through tobacco shops, while e-liquids will be sold only through tobacco shops and licensed specialist stores. Other points of sale will no longer be permitted to sell these products.

Poland plans to amend its tobacco control legislation, proposing a ban on disposable e-cigarettes (both nicotine-containing and nicotine-free) while simultaneously tightening regulations on nicotine pouches and other novel nicotine products. Nicotine pouches may be permitted only in "tobacco flavour" variants to reduce their appeal to young people.
