JTI Italy's Long-Term Support for Umbria Tobacco Industry
JTI Italy has long been supporting the tobacco industry in Umbria, Italy. Over the past decade, the company has been consistently increasing investments within this supply chain.

According to a report by Ansa on May 9th, JTI Italy has long been supporting the tobacco industry in Umbria, Italy. Over the past decade, the company has been consistently increasing investments within this supply chain.

 

In 2023, the company reached an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in which JTI promised to purchase up to 24,000 tons of Italian tobacco products over the next three years, with the majority produced in Umbria.

 

The company's Chief Affairs Officer, Lorenzo Fronteddu, emphasized the importance of the region to the company, stating, "This is a long-term project aimed at ensuring producers have a clear and sustainable investment outlook. We at JTI are proud to have signed an agreement based on active feedback from industry key players, designed to bring greater economic stability and long-term strategic planning to the industry. We will continue to do our part, working with producers and institutions, to inspire sustainable growth throughout the entire industry.
