Louisiana Convenience and E-cigarette Store Association Files Lawsuit Over State's E-cigarette Ban
The Louisiana Convenience Store and E-Cigarette Association has filed temporary and permanent injunctions against a new law.

According to BRPROUD on November 2, the convenience store and e-cigarette store association in the state of Louisiana has filed temporary and permanent injunctions against a proposed law.

Louisiana previously passed a bill that allows for the removal of unauthorized e-cigarette products and imposes taxes on e-cigarette products.

According to the law, retailers are required to register their e-cigarette products with the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC).

The Louisiana Association of Convenience Stores and E-cigarette Shops has named two heads of national agencies as defendants, with one of them being the ATC Commissioner, Ernest Legier, who added, "Under this new law, the ATC will have 100% regulatory authority over known legal e-cigarette products.

Legere expressed that ATC plans to "vigorously defend its obligation to protect Louisiana citizens and looks forward to a favorable judicial decision.

According to court records, the hearing is scheduled to take place on November 8th.
