Maine Leaders Attempt to Ban Flavored E-Cigarettes
Some U.S. leaders are trying to stop e-cigarette stores in Maine from selling tobacco flavored products.

Mint, banana, and bubble gum flavors are all flavors of candy and tobacco. Some leaders in the state of Maine, USA are attempting to prevent e-cigarette shops in the state from selling these tobacco-flavored products.


South Portland has recently banned the sale of flavored tobacco products. Stores are permitted to sell their remaining inventory until April 1st.


Christopher Jackson, the owner of Portland Smoke and Vape, stated that it is unfair.


This is a significant aspect of our business, and we prioritize it because we have firsthand experience of its profound impact on health when used correctly," said Jackson.


Jackson said that these products have changed people's lifestyles for the better. He added that flavored tobacco helped him quit smoking.


However, some residents are considering the ban with their children in mind.


Patrick Arnold, a resident of South Portland, stated, "We have three children and I believe that flavored tobacco is inappropriate for children to be exposed to at a young age when they are more susceptible to influence.


Jackson stated that they do not market their products to children and the flavors are intended for adults.
