According to The BayNet, on February 5 at approximately 1:35 p.m., an 11-year-old student at Davis Middle School in Waldorf, Maryland, was found to be in possession of a vaping device containing THC.
The report says further investigation revealed two other 11-year-old students had possession of the same vaping device throughout the day. In accordance with Maryland law, the students were charged on a juvenile citation with possession of cannabis.
The report adds that parents are urged to talk with students about the dangers of consuming products containing unknown substances and the harmful effects they could have. It also says the students face consequences from Charles County Public Schools in accordance with the student code of conduct.
The report includes background information stating the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) was accredited by CALEA in 2001 and has since earned the highest rating of Excellence, and provides the agency website.
