Illegal cigarettes with a value of over 8.2 million euros were found in a vehicle in County Louth, Ireland.

According to a news report by Yahoo News on November 11th, Irish police have discovered a stash of illegal cigarettes in a seized vehicle in County Laois, valued at over 8.2 million euros (approximately 8.77 million US dollars).

 

The Irish police have announced that with the assistance of detection dogs, they have discovered approximately 9.8 million illegal cigarettes, all bearing the brand name "Platinum Seven.

 

The police authorities stated that the incident resulted in a loss of approximately 6.4 million euros (around 6.84 million US dollars) for the Irish exchequer.
