According to a September 25th report from Patch, several states and regions in the United States have implemented restrictions on the use of e-cigarettes and their associated products, due to concerns about their impact on the health of both young and elderly individuals. Recently, the Lawrence Health Consultation Committee in New Jersey held a meeting to discuss the issue of stores near schools selling e-cigarette products.
According to Councilwoman Catherin MacDuff, the committee is considering issuing a decree that would prohibit e-cigarette shops from operating around schools. The proposal will be sent to the mayor and council for feedback and input. If this legislation is introduced and passed, Lawrence will join a growing number of towns across the country in taking such preventive measures.
As of March this year, all 50 states in the US have implemented a ban on selling e-cigarettes to minors. Many states have also placed flavor restrictions on e-cigarettes and e-cigarette products to reduce their appeal to young people.
