PMI Launches VEEV E-Cigarette in South Africa, Expanding Access to Smoke-Free Alternatives

South Africa has become one of the 20 countries worldwide that have access to the three main smokeless product series offered by Philip Morris International (PMI).

 

The products released include the heated tobacco IQOS ILUMA, nicotine pouches ZYN, and e-cigarette VEEV.

 


 

According to a report by Bizcommunity on October 13, 2025, Philip Morris International (PMI) South Africa has launched the e-cigarette product Veev in South Africa.

 

Philip Morris International (PMI) South Africa announced that with this product expansion, South Africa joins the ranks of 20 countries globally that have three main categories of smoke-free products. The three main categories include:

 

IQOS ILUMA is a brand of heated tobacco products, ZYN is a brand of nicotine pouches, and VEEV is an e-cigarette brand.

 

Jonathan Kwak, Director of Smoke-Free Products at PMI South Africa, stated, "Adult smokers in South Africa now have more choices, including scientifically proven smoke-free alternatives." He added that this is an important step towards completely eliminating cigarettes.
