Philip Morris International (PMI) is committed to achieving its carbon neutrality goals with a transformative new solar project for Sampoerna, Indonesia, which includes planting trees and building solar panels, reports pmi.com.

The project supports the company's goal of achieving carbon neutrality in its direct operations by 2025.

 

The Sukorejo production center is currently supplied with electricity from the national grid, solar panels and a gas-fired generator. Upon completion of the project, the gas-fired generator will be shut down. The production center will be fully powered by the grid, a new biomass boiler and new photovoltaic (solar) panels.
