PMI Explains Importance of Climate Action

There is no doubt now that the climate crisis is a global, existential threat. But we are not all facing its consequences equally. Inequality exacerbates the impacts of climate change and affects people living in poverty more profoundly, making them more vulnerable to the extreme effects of climate change. This includes increased forced migration or population displacement due to lack of access to water, sanitation and food security.

In addition to impeding human rights related to safety, cleanliness, health and a sustainable environment, as recognized by the UN Human Rights Council in at least a dozen resolutions as far back as 2008 - climate change will also negatively impact many other human rights.
