On September 4, 2025, according to mynavi, Philip Morris International (PMI) Japan announced the launch of a limited edition "KIWAMI version" of heated tobacco in Japan to celebrate reaching the number one market share. This limited edition will be available first at the IQOS online store and four IQOS specialty stores nationwide in Japan, with an expected retail price of 580 yen per pack (about 4 USD), the same as the existing brands.

 

The design of the KIWAMI edition was crafted by renowned artists Shoryu Hatoba and Yoho Hatoba, drawing inspiration from family crests and incorporating embossing technology on the packaging.

In addition, the IQOS store will also launch a "IQOS x Kyogen" collection gift box, featuring 16 KOIMI edition tobacco and a uniquely designed IQOS Iluma Prime, priced at 19,980 yen (approximately $135). The centerpiece of the gift box is a 3D paperweight featuring the plum blossom family crest, with a limited edition code included and only 103 copies available for sale.

 

Philip Morris International (PMI) stated that TEREA brand has always been the core product of PMI Japan as one of the flagship products of IQOS. The launch of KIWAMI edition with 16 flavors also marks the achievement of top sales for IQOS in the Japanese market.

Since its launch, IQOS has expanded to cover 97 markets worldwide and has a total user base of 41.5 million people.
