Product | OXVA Introduces XLIM PRO 4 With Liquid-Level Anti-Burn Technology and Dedicated Pods
Vaping brand OXVA introduced the XLIM PRO 4 refillable pod system in October 2026, featuring Anti-Burn Tech (ABT) based on smart e-liquid-level detection. The system can issue refill alerts and stop power output when e-liquid levels become too low. ABT requires the XLIM PRO 4 device and a dedicated XLIM ABT cartridge. Standard XLIM pods remain compatible but do not support ABT protection. OXVA previously introduced temperature-based anti-burn technology in the XLIM Pro 2 DNA, developed with Evolv. The new device features a 1,800mAh battery, 5–30W output and a 0.98-inch HD color screen. OXVA's official store lists the device at $37.90 and dedicated ABT replacement cartridges at $12.99. Independent testing confirmed the low-liquid protection response but recorded varying cartridge lifespans.

Key Points

  • OXVA introduced the XLIM PRO 4 in October 2026 with liquid-level-based Anti-Burn Tech (ABT), designed to issue refill alerts and stop power output when e-liquid levels become too low.
  • Unlike the Evolv DNA temperature-control system used in the 2025 XLIM Pro 2 DNA, ABT monitors e-liquid levels rather than coil temperature. Both systems are designed to reduce dry-hit risks.
  • ABT protection requires the XLIM PRO 4 device paired with an XLIM ABT Cartridge UNITECH 3.0. The device remains compatible with standard XLIM pods, although those cartridges do not enable ABT.
  • In independent testing, Vaping360 confirmed that ABT triggered a refill alert and stopped firing. A 0.6Ω ABT cartridge lasted through approximately 60mL of e-liquid, while a 0.8Ω cartridge began producing dry hits after approximately 25mL.
  • XLIM PRO 4 features a 1,800mAh battery, 5–30W output and a 0.98-inch HD color screen. OXVA's official online store lists the device at $37.90 and ABT replacement cartridges at $12.99.

Vaping brand OXVA introduced the XLIM PRO 4 refillable pod system in October 2026, featuring Anti-Burn Tech (ABT) based on smart e-liquid-level detection, according to the company's product and technology materials.

The system is designed to identify low e-liquid conditions, issue refill alerts and stop power output when protection is triggered, reducing the risk of accidental dry hits.

OXVA previously introduced a temperature-control solution developed with U.S.-based vaping chipset and control technology company Evolv in the XLIM Pro 2 DNA. The newer XLIM PRO 4 uses a different detection mechanism and combines ABT protection with dedicated UNITECH 3.0 cartridges while retaining compatibility with standard XLIM pods.

OXVA's official online store lists the XLIM PRO 4 at $37.90 and separately offers XLIM ABT Cartridge UNITECH 3.0 replacement pods.

OXVA Adds Liquid-Level Detection Following Earlier Temperature-Control System

The XLIM PRO 4 is not OXVA's first device to feature anti-burn protection.

In June 2025, OXVA introduced the XLIM Pro 2 DNA, developed in partnership with Evolv, a U.S.-based vaping chipset and control technology company.

The device uses a DNA temperature-control chipset paired with stainless steel coils. By monitoring changes in coil resistance associated with temperature, the system adjusts power delivery to help reduce overheating and dry-hit risks.

The XLIM PRO 4, introduced in October 2026, adopts a different approach.

According to OXVA, its ABT system uses Smart Liquid-Level Detection to identify when e-liquid inside the cartridge becomes too low. When triggered, the system can display a refill warning and stop the device from firing.

The main differences are summarized below.

Both systems aim to reduce dry-hit risks, but their monitoring methods and protection mechanisms differ.

OXVA has not publicly disclosed the detailed sensing mechanism, sensor architecture or detection accuracy of ABT. The company has also not published directly comparable test data establishing the relative performance of ABT and its earlier temperature-control solution.

ABT Requires Dedicated Cartridges While Standard XLIM Pods Remain Compatible

ABT protection depends on both the device and a compatible cartridge.

OXVA introduced the XLIM ABT Cartridge UNITECH 3.0 as the dedicated consumable for the new system.

UNITECH 3.0 refers to OXVA's cartridge and atomization technology, while ABT provides liquid-level detection and the associated protection response.

According to OXVA, the XLIM PRO 4 remains compatible with standard XLIM-series cartridges. However, regular cartridges cannot activate ABT protection.

The supported configurations are as follows:

Device and cartridgeNormal vapingABT protection
XLIM PRO 4 + ABT cartridgeSupportedSupported
XLIM PRO 4 + standard compatible XLIM podSupportedNot supported
Other compatible XLIM device + ABT cartridgeSupportedOnly with an ABT-capable device

OXVA's user instructions state that ABT can be enabled or disabled by pressing the device's button eight consecutive times when a compatible ABT cartridge is installed.

When the system detects insufficient e-liquid and activates protection, the device stops firing and displays a "PLEASE FILL THE POD" message.

The arrangement introduces an additional cartridge option within the existing XLIM ecosystem. The XLIM PRO 4 preserves compatibility with regular cartridges, while its new liquid-level protection function requires dedicated consumables.

Independent Testing Confirms ABT Response; Cartridge Lifespans Vary

Vaping publication Vaping360 published an independent review of the XLIM 4 and XLIM PRO 4 on October 16, 2026, examining ABT functionality, cartridge performance, battery life and device operation.

During testing of the XLIM PRO 4, the reviewer reported that the device stopped firing and displayed a refill warning when the cartridge was nearly empty. A subsequent inspection confirmed that the remaining e-liquid level was low.

The review noted that ABT was not based on temperature control and that the associated cartridges used Kanthal heating wire. The reviewer confirmed that the low-liquid protection response was triggered but could not identify the underlying sensing mechanism.

The review also recorded different cartridge lifespans under the tested conditions.

Test itemVaping360 findings
E-liquid and usage conditions50/50 VG/PG e-liquids, primarily MTL airflow settings
0.6Ω ABT cartridgeApproximately 60mL of e-liquid used; slight flavor decline around 55mL
0.8Ω cartridgeFlavor decline around 15mL; dry hits beginning around 25mL
ABT low-liquid protectionRefill warning and firing cut-off successfully triggered
Battery runtimeApproximately 7–7.3mL of e-liquid per charge at around 22W
Charging timeApproximately 47 minutes

Regarding the 0.8Ω cartridge, the reviewer noted that the dry-hit experience could have been related to the individual cartridge or the e-liquid used.

The observation concerned cartridge performance during extended use and does not, by itself, establish a failure of ABT's low-liquid protection function.

The review also reported a whistling sound at the tightest MTL airflow setting and inaccuracies in the device's estimated remaining charging time.

These findings reflect testing of specific samples rather than statistically representative long-term durability results. Differences in cartridge lifespan cannot be attributed to ABT alone.

1,800mAh Battery, 30W Output and 0.98-Inch HD Display

The XLIM PRO 4 features a built-in 1,800mAh battery, adjustable output from 5W to 30W and USB-C charging rated at 5V/3A.

The device includes a 0.98-inch HD color screen displaying battery level, power output, puff count and operating information.

Other features include adjustable airflow, button- and draw-activated operation, and multiple display options.

OXVA lists a standard 3mL cartridge capacity, with a 2mL version available for certain markets. The kit includes two ABT cartridges using UNITECH 3.0 technology.

Independent testing by Vaping360 recorded a charging time of approximately 47 minutes. At around 22W, the reviewer reported using approximately 7–7.3mL of e-liquid per full battery charge.

The figures represent listed retail prices, with configurations and final selling prices potentially varying by market.

Dedicated ABT cartridges are listed at $12.99, compared with $11.99 for standard UNITECH 3.0 cartridges. However, the complete pack quantities, capacities and selling conditions have not been sufficiently verified to establish a comparable per-cartridge price difference or a specific premium attributable to ABT.

The XLIM PRO 4 also carries a higher listed price than the XLIM 4. The two models differ in battery capacity, display and other features, so their price difference cannot be attributed solely to ABT.

Industry Perspective

OXVA's 2025 XLIM Pro 2 DNA used a temperature-control system developed with Evolv and paired with dedicated stainless steel coil cartridges. The 2026 XLIM PRO 4 instead uses liquid-level detection alongside dedicated ABT UNITECH 3.0 cartridges.

Both devices require compatible hardware and consumables for their respective anti-burn functions, but they employ different detection mechanisms. The XLIM PRO 4 also retains compatibility with standard XLIM cartridges, adding ABT as a new feature within the existing consumables ecosystem.

Sweden Threatens EU Tobacco Tax Deal as Nicotine Pouch Duty Dispute Looms Over November 9 Meeting
Sweden is expected to oppose a European Union proposal to raise minimum tobacco excise duties, Law360 reported on October 26, 2026, citing an EU official. A provisional Council agenda dated October 23 confirms that the tobacco taxation package is scheduled for discussion at the November 9 finance ministers' meeting, where member states will seek a general approach. The proposed reforms would raise minimum taxes on conventional tobacco products and establish EU-wide excise rules for vaping liquids, heated tobacco and nicotine pouches. Sweden supports harmonising tobacco taxation rules but objects to requiring nicotine pouches to bear the same minimum tax burden as certain smoking tobacco products. As EU indirect tax legislation requires unanimous Council approval, Swedish opposition could block the proposal in its current form.

Smoore Seeks to Toss CCELL Price-Fixing Claim as Court Weighs Vertical Distribution Versus Horizontal Conspiracy
Smoore and four authorized U.S. CCELL distributors are asking a California federal court to permanently dismiss a core antitrust claim brought by direct purchasers. Plaintiffs allege that Smoore coordinated minimum wholesale prices, customer allocation and limits on price competition among distributors, amounting to a per se unlawful horizontal conspiracy. The defendants say the alleged conduct reflects ordinary vertical relationships between a manufacturer and its distributors. The court previously dismissed a similar claim, and the latest dispute centers on whether the second amended complaint adds sufficient facts to establish a horizontal agreement.
