Roundup of E-Liquids and Pod-Systems at EVO NXT: GOLD BAR, TYSON Unveil E-Liquids

Rise of refillable e-cigarette products in European market since 2023, UK bans disposable e-cigarettes, e-liquids become popular.

Since 2023, there has been a trend of rising popularity in Europe's e-cigarette market for refillable products. In January 2024, the UK announced a ban on disposable e-cigarettes, sparking a growing interest in e-liquid products. At the recent EVO NXT tobacco exhibition in Spain, 2FIRSTS also observed a significant increase in exhibitors showcasing refillable products and e-liquid products.

In addition, at the expo, the newly popular mainstream brand GOLD BAR released pod system and e-liquid products; the well-known American brand TYSON also showcased its e-liquid products.

South Korea’s National Assembly Passes Law Classifying E-Cigarettes as Tobacco Products with Full Equivalent Regulation

South Korea’s National Assembly recently passed a comprehensive package of 79 bills that, among other measures, formally classifies liquid vapes — e-cigarette products using nicotine-containing e-liquids — as tobacco products. These products will now be subject to the same taxation, sales restrictions and advertising controls as traditional cigarettes, and the vaping industry in South Korea is expected to face significant adjustments in compliance costs, market access and business strategy.

Irish Cabinet to Consider Bill Banning Sale of Single-Use Vapes

Ireland’s Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, will seek Cabinet approval today for the publication of the Public Health (Single-Use Vapes) Bill 2025, which proposes banning the retail sale of single-use or disposable vapes six months after becoming law. The measure aims to address the growing use of disposable vapes, particularly among young people, and close regulatory gaps around emerging nicotine products such as pouches.

Authorities in Kazakhstan Seize Over 53,000 Illegal Vape Products in Pavlodar

Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency in Pavlodar Region has concluded an investigation into an organised group involved in the illegal sale of vaping products. The group operated through three Telegram-based online shops and used courier delivery services. Authorities seized more than 53,000 items, with a total value exceeding 400 million tenge. The investigation found that students were the primary consumers. Four suspects have been placed in custody and multiple assets have been seized.

Uruguay Weighs Ban on Nicotine Pouches as Health Ministry Warns of Growing Use

Nicotine pouches, promoted as flavored, smoke-free alternatives, are spreading in Uruguay despite the absence of a formal market. The Ministry of Public Health is considering banning them by decree and has raised the issue within Mercosur and at COP11. Health Minister Cristina Lustemberg warns that the industry is pushing new nicotine products to normalize consumption among youth.
