Russian businessman caught smuggling large quantity of tobacco products
A local businessman in Krasnoyarsk, Russia was caught with over 23,800 packs of cigarettes and 2,800 packs of unmarked tobacco.

According to Sibnovosti on August 5th, in the Krasnoyarsk Krai region of Russia, a local businessman was found to be in possession of 23,800 packs of cigarettes and 2,800 packs of hookah tobacco that were not properly labeled. This shipment is the largest batch of smuggled goods seized by customs officials in the area in 2024.

Some of the products did not have a label indicating that consumption tax had been paid, or the labels used showed signs of being fake. The total value of the batch of goods exceeded 3 million rubles (35,151 US dollars).


Currently, law enforcement officials are deciding whether to bring criminal charges against the businessman.
