Superdrug Removes Disposable E-Cigarettes from Stores in UK and Ireland
Superdrug, a UK retailer, will stop selling disposable e-cigarettes due to difficulties in recycling and the potential ban in Ireland.

Superdrug, the retailer, has confirmed that it will no longer sell disposable e-cigarettes in all of its stores in the UK and Ireland, according to a report by The Sun on September 24th.

There are reports suggesting that disposable e-cigarettes may soon be completely banned in Ireland. Disposable e-cigarettes pose a recycling challenge as they contain batteries that need to be disassembled and recycled separately. Recently, Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly expressed his desire to prohibit all disposable e-cigarettes. He stated that he will target flavors and sales points in stores and is planning to introduce a second legislation to crack down on e-cigarettes, limit flavors, and curb advertisements in shops.

Superdrug, previously not selling disposable e-cigarettes online, has been averaging sales of 1,300 units per week at its physical stores. However, the retailer now plans to clear its inventory in these brick-and-mortar stores by the end of this year. This move by Superdrug implies that it will cease selling brands such as Vuse Go and Flavaah Bars.
