On February 19, Thai police arrested a 32-year-old suspect in a warehouse in Bang Phli district, Chonburi province, and seized 8143 pieces of e-cigarette products with a total value exceeding 3 million Thai Baht (90,000 USD). The case originated from a thorough investigation by the police into illegal online e-cigarette trading, where the suspects disguised e-cigarettes as cartoon toys and primarily targeted young people to evade parental supervision. During the investigation, the police made undercover purchases through a chat group called "Warehouse Commodity Updates Retail Wholesale," and discovered that through this channel alone, the group had a monthly turnover of up to 2 million Thai Baht (60,000 USD).

An investigation revealed that the criminal organization has been changing their hiding locations multiple times in the past 2-3 months to avoid police detection. After learning about the latest warehouse location, the authorities immediately seized a large quantity of unpackaged and ready-to-ship e-cigarettes.

The police announced that the suspect is currently detained for allegedly selling e-cigarettes and their accessories. The case has been transferred to the Consumer Product Protection Police Department for further investigation and handling.
