The signing was of “Compliant Operation Commitment” was witnessed by Electronic Cigarette Professional Committee of China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (ECCC).

On 27th of July, the signing was of “Compliant Operation Commitment” was witnessed by Electronic Cigarette Professional Committee of China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (ECCC), and online witness by UKVIA Director General John Dunne, IEVA Co-founders Dustin Dahlmann and Cipri Boboi, SPINI Chief Press Officer Peter Davydov, and VITA President Daniel David. Representatives of 61 China’s largest e-cigarette companies held signature pens solemnly signed and sealed the commitment.

With the advent of legalized supervision of the e-cigarette industry, the compliance development of enterprises is the core competitiveness in the future. The ECCC held this ceremony to promote the commitment and determination of Chinese e-cigarette companies to operate in compliance, establish a positive image of China's e-cigarette industry, and promote the healthy development of the global e-cigarette industry.

It is the inescapable responsibility of e-cigarette companies and its practitioners to operate in compliance to jointly promote the healthy development of the industry. The "Compliant Operation Commitment" consists of five items. (1)Strengthen compliance management, (2)prioritize safe production, (3)follow the commitment not to sell e-cigarettes to minors, (4)strictly complying with applicable regulations and standard requirements in exporting countries, and (5)establish environmental awareness to strive to achieve the goals of carbon neutrality.

The ECCC currently has more than 600 member companies. Under the comprehensive supervision of the government regulators, the ECCC, and the general public, all enterprises will strictly fulfill their commitments and assume their social responsibilities.

According to China’s patent office records, a patent owned by China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Corporation (CTHB) for “cigarette paper and a cigarette for microwave heating” was granted on May 19, 2026. The patent describes cigarette paper with an outer wrapping layer, a heating layer, and an isolation heat-conducting layer, allowing it to absorb microwave energy, convert it to heat, and transfer that heat to the aerosol-generating substrate.
